Alternative Quote of the Day
“Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow they may make it illegal. “
You think that Lincoln quote is true of businesses as well?
On the top level, looking at a business as a whole, it is very rare the competition (outside force) would destroy a business. It usually is something internal that doesn’t allow them to adapt to an outside change (competition, markets, economy et al).
On the worker level, freedoms within a workplace to act like yourself allow for happier workers. Look, for example, at the DISC profiles. Those that have adapted to something far different of a shape then their natural bar graph are likely to not be happy. Not happy workers = crappy work. Clearly, having a strict regime won’t keep workers working for long. Stress =Ulcers = Bad.
So, yes, if you are still reading this wall of text I think the Lincoln quote does apply to businesses.
Yeah I think it holds true in the corporate world. As long as we are willing to adapt to the changes in our industry we can survive. It’s when we aren’t willing to think outside the box and change that we will get crushed by the opposition.
